Things to Consider Before Installing an Auto Gate

If you are planning to upgrade your house perimeter’s fencing, consider installing an automated gate. The Auto Gate makes life very convenient for you. No more getting soaked every time it rains, no more hassle of locking and unlocking your gate every time you go shopping. But, as always, consider a few things before installing.

Make sure you get the right motor. Some dealers short change you and give you a smaller motor. The horse power of the motor must be able to push the door with ease. An experience installer will be able to help. They take into consideration the weight of the door before deciding on the size of the motor.

When laying the electrical supply to the door, make sure the electricians uses armoured cables because it is going to be laid underground. If money permits, use a cable with at least 2 or 3 extra core so that if there is going to be any short circuits in the future (happens often in cases of wires laid underground), you still have some spare wires.

Hassle the vendor for an extra remote control. If you are going to buy another one, it will be quite pricey.

When fabricating your gate, make sure you have a smaller gate within the main gate that will allow you to walk in or out. If there is a power blackout, at least you can still utilise the smaller gate, else you will have the scale it.
